Furniture
A Soumak furniture is meant to be kept and passed on to its next owners. Take your pick from our selection of key pieces that transcend time and trends. Better still, make them your own by choosing your preferred colors, finishes, materials and upholstery.

Rugs
Our rugs are investment pieces made with wild abaca harvested from the forests of Bukidnon in Mindanao, which are handwoven by artisans.

Rug size & placement
A rug provides the foundation for your room, helps protect your floors and provides comfort underfoot. We offer rugs in sizes, materials and designs to fit just about every space and style. And while we believe there are no rules when it comes to completing your home, here are some room-by-room guidelines to get you started.
Living room
A large made-to-order rug can bring together all of the elements in your room. Create a natural border by leaving about 18 inches of flooring exposed around the rug.
Create a natural conversation grouping with an 8×10 rug that allows you to place all furniture front legs on the rug with the back legs off. This arrangement opens up a path for walking around the area and also shows more of your floor. This also works well in open-concept rooms where there are multiple furniture groupings.
Both your furniture and your flooring are showcased in this arrangement with sofa legs off the rug and front chair legs on. This provides a comfortable distance for conversation while using a mid-size 6×9 rug. For the best proportion, the rug should be a bit longer than your sofa.
Dining room
A large 8×10 rug will balance with the size of a 3×6 table and allow room to slide out chairs and remain entirely on the rug. We recommend leaving an eight-inch border between the rug and the wall to frame the space.
Bedroom
A made-to-order rug provides generous walking space at the sides and bottom of a king size bed and room enough to hold an accent chair or bench for extra seating.
An 8×10 rug for a queen size bed can provide enough space to step out of bed and onto the rug, plus room for an end-of-bed bench or chair.
Textiles
Soumak fabrics are made from fine abaca, raffia and other natural yarns handwoven by Filipino artisans. Their colors nod to the sun and the storms that defined our manners and sculpted our landscape, the folk tales that left us beguiled and bewildered as children. This collection’s palette is also a celebration of our humor and hopelessly romantic national character.

Textile production lead time varies from 45 to 60 days. Here are some basic guidelines to get you started.
Window panels
Complete the room with the perfect window treatment. They may be used alone or layered together for added texture and richness. To allow natural light to filter into the room while still maintaining a level of privacy, sheer neutral panels are a perfect option.
Drapery styles
Rod Pocket – This is when the curtain fabric is turned back on itself to create a pocket through which to feed the curtain rod.
Eyelets – This can only be used with curtain poles and have a very contemporary and almost industrial feel. Curtains with eyelet headings give large, even and naturally soft folds.
Tab Top – Tab-top curtains have loops at the top, made from the same or contrasting fabric.
